Janelle Renee Pearson is a content creator (producer, writer, director, actor) raised in Los Angeles, California. An alumnus of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, Janelle is a self proclaimed love enthusiast. In 2015 Janelle produced her first short film The Untimely End of Ms. Xiang, Sophie Labelle came on board as a Producer and AD, this is where they began their working career outside of NYU. Janelle's inaugural short went on to feature at over 7 festivals, in the 2016/17 circuit, including the Pan African Film Festival, Hollywood BlackFilm Festival and the Orlando Urban Film Festival where she took home the award for “Women in Film: Best Short”. Shortly after the success of "The Untimely End..", Janelle and Sophie started their own production company, Highly Evolved Productions. Since then, Janelle has gone on to write, direct, executive produce and act in several short films, pilots and web series, including a short web series she co-created with her partner Sophie Labelle, "No Chill". The webseries quickly garnered attention from Elizabeth Banks and her team at WhoHaHa and season 1 of the webseries was soon distributed exclusively on the platform. She's currently working on several projects and is really excited about the launch of the second season of the web series "No Chill".
Sophie Labelle is a Canadian born actress, dancer, creator and performer. While attending NYU studying drama and gender studies, she met Janelle Renee Pearson who is now her production partner and co-creator of No Chill. She has been in films, television, theater, fronted a riot grrrl band, and has created her own stage work. The first season of the No Chill was her first time as executive producer and creator of a show.
She is also a vegan and a Capricorn.
